Eligibility Criteria For this scholarship?

  • The applicant is a national of and resident in one of the countries on the OKP Country list.
  • The applicant holds a valid identification card.
  • The scholarship applicant has been admitted to the course or program for which he/she wishes to earn an OKP scholarship.
  • The applicant for a scholarship has submitted a government statement with a scholarship application if requested by the local government.
  • The scholarship applicant reveals that the amount of co-financing requested is sufficient to finance the research.
  • The employer of the scholarship applicant supports the application for a scholarship with a favorable reference, announces that it will continue to pay the salary of the scholarship recipient throughout the program and, upon his/her return, will allow the scholarship recipient the opportunity to apply what he/she has learned in practice.

Selection Procedure:

The procedure is as follows:

  • Candidates file with their Dutch educational institution
  • The Dutch institution nominates and submits a grant proposal.
  • Embassies will review eligibility and evaluate applications
  • Results of selection published
  • Grants granted

What is the time limit for submission of an online application?

There are 3 rounds for the Dutch Government Scholarship under the Orange Awareness Scholarship Program:

  • Round 1: 3 February – 23 March 2021 (This deadline is for all courses that are starting between 26 July and 21 November 2021)
  • Round 2 for applications is from 12 May to 29 June 2021 (This deadline is mainly for all Short Courses that are starting between 22 November 2021 and 20 February 2022)
  • The deadline for Round 3 will start from 1st September to 12 October 2021 (for Short Courses starting on or after 21 February 2022 and ending before 31 August 2022)
