International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are given to outstanding international candidates who are applying to UBC’s undergraduate programmes. IMES scholarships are awarded to students when they begin their first year at UBC, and they are renewable for up to three further years of study. Depending on available resources, the number and value of these scholarships provided each year varies.

When suitable candidates are given admission to UBC, the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is a one-time merit-based entry scholarship. Students that are chosen for this honor have demonstrated academic excellence as well as participation outside of the classroom. You’ll be evaluated for these merit-based scholarships as soon as you get an offer of admission to UBC. Your application will be evaluated based on your academic achievements and extracurricular activities.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn, network, research, and create while studying at a worldwide top 40 institution and North America’s most international university. International students are still supported by UBC through a range of in-program scholarships and prizes. Scholarship and award amounts, as well as their ability to be renewed, will vary.
