What Are The Requirements For Applying For this Scholarship?
In order to be eligible for a bursary at the University of Manitoba, you must apply for both the University of Manitoba General Bursary and separate applications for specific prizes.
- To be eligible, students must register for classes in both the fall and winter semesters.
- There is a standard requirement for students to enrol in and finish at least 60% of a term’s course load (i.e., nine credit hours). Graduate students can take as many or as few credits as they choose throughout the fall and winter semesters as long as they are registered as full-time.
- Students must maintain a certain grade point average to be admitted. Continuing students must maintain a 2.0 GPA to be eligible for financial aid. Applicants from high school must have a grade-point average of at least 70% to be considered. Mature students accepted with the Mature Student Status may be eligible for bursaries as well.
- It’s imperative that I be honest about my financial situation when filling out this application. Students applying for provincial government student loans must produce a copy of their most recent official government loan assessment as proof of their financial necessity. Please be aware that recipients of Manitoba Student Aid are exempt from submitting a copy of their Notice of Assessment with their application.
- International students in their first year of study in Canada are not eligible for the general bursary programme.
